how much overhead is this?
as we will have the valid versions (fields: 'introduced with', 'obsolete
since') for every entry IMHO it is not really neccessary to have a
versionnumber in the path.
it would be nice to have, but only if the different versions could access
common data. Else we will lost all comments on a value with the next
version.
it is better to have one complete reference than having a dozen
references each with some comments and where you need to gather the added
information.
and SEO: if there is no change with the next version: will we get
'duplicate content' punishment?
Search engines should find for the first place THE official reference.
