Hi Peter,

All we do is to combine it with the powerful utilities (package manager)
that are part of Debian.

Since Debian consists of a strict update policy (=> no bad surprises) it is
very recommendable for the use on a webserver.

I didn't follow the whole discussion, sorry.

One single document is ok for me but it shouldn't cover too much
uninteresting stuff which is only for one specific target group.

This is why I suggested to make use of the Wiki or to create Mini-Howtos.

In this case it does. You should consider that the Debian manual is
absolutely Debian specific. It is almost unusable for everybody else.

Maybe have a look at the current preview which has been written by
Lars E. D. Jensen: http://www.dcmedia.biz/fileadmin/debian/manual.sxw

We could print this manual as a book and add a CD with Debian and the TYPO3
packages to it, and it would cover the whole setup process... :-)
