[TYPO3-dam] DAM requirement set to PHP 5.2.6, why?

Helmut,

You can use 1.1.X branch for the old version of PHP (if you can still 
find it :))
I forget the exact reason, but there were some inconsistencies with file 
access functions pre-PHP 5.2.6 that led to a lot of conditions in the code.
