[TYPO3-dam] DAM categories not working

I have not filed a bug report yet because I wanted to do some more 
investigation into the problem. The categories seem to work on one of my 
sites with TYPO3 4.4.2 and DAM 1.1.5 but they don't work on another site 
with the same versions of TYPO3 and DAM.

I mentioned before that I think the issue might be with the server PHP 
version (5.2 vs 5.3) but I haven't had a chance to copy the working site 
to a PHP 5.3 server yet to test this. Once I get some more information 
on the problem, I'll file a bug report, but it would be inaccurate to 
file a bug report saying that the categories don't work with TYPO3 4.4.2 
and DAM 1.1.5 because they do work with one of my sites.
