[TYPO3-dam] best practice to search within DAM files

hi.. i want to study the easiest way to search within DAM indexed files  
(pdf, doc, xls at least)

i think that the various mnogoserch and Lucene external apps are a bit too  
complicated to install and support, and that the good indexed_search could  
do its job (since they are just a few hundreads documents.. not millions)

is the ultimate way to make it easy to: publish ALL DAM files in normal  
pages (maybe hidden in menu ones), and then let the crawler index all them  
?

anybody found a better solution?
