[TYPO3-dam] DAM Requirements

hey people,

as the development of the DAM extension is in full process, I just 
wanted to give you a heads up on what versions are going to be 
compatible with what extensions.

If you are using TYPO3 4.0 or TYPO3 4.1...
* you have to stick to DAM 1.0.x which is currently available in TER


If you are using TYPO3 4.2+...
* we have some more features sitting in the DAM 1.1 branch (= trunk)
* also, it will be nicely integrated in the new RTE API of htmlarea.
* Rewritten documentation in the pipes!
* dam_catedit and some other extensions will be updated to 1.1 versions 
as well once we do the DAM 1.1 release

Basically this means, that DAM 1.1 (and all other dam_... 1.1 
extensions) will require TYPO3 4.2. It's just because so many things 
have changed since 4.1, and it slows down our development process 
immensly, having to test DAM 1.1 with TYPO3 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 and writing 
patches matching both RTE and TYPO3 APIs (pre 4.2 and 4.2+).

I hope this is reasonable for everybody.
