[TYPO3-dam] DAM Categories in HMENU

Is it possible to create a HMENU or TMENU of Subcategories to a category?

I'm using smoothgallery in conjunction with dam and it would be nice if 
i could have one page with the gallery on it and have the category to 
display given to it via the querystring.
Instead of making a page with the plugin on for every category.

any ideas?
