[TYPO3-dam] Dam user permissions

I am looking into bug (http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=8819) - DAM 
doesn't index files if run as a non-admin user. What I found is that the 
user doesn't have rights to modify tx_dam table. How can I give the user 
permission? In other words, tx_dam should be listed in the following 
variable:

$this->BE_USER->groupData['tables_modify']
(line 5240 of class.t3lib_tcemain, Typo3 4.2.1)

Any suggestions?
