[TYPO3-dam] dam, tt_news, gallery with lots of images

thanks, I consider it. But I like the rgsmoothgallery and the customer too.

Now I see two problem with using rgsmoothgallery within tt_news and  dam. 
(1) The gallery will be shown within tt_news record only, If I attach the images as original media images. In this case a copy will be created for each images in the updates/pics folder. If I have mass of images, a lot of disk space will be wasted. The dam_ttnews extension solves this problem, but the rgsmoothgallery don't seems to be can read the attached images from the DAM media folder.
(2) Creating the thumbnail and gallery size images (mass images) can take lot's of time on VPS server. Therefoer If I add a new tt_news record with many images, and the record is put imadiately to the startpage, in this case the whole website can unaccessible, till the image creating process ends. I get "the premature end of script..." error. And what I don't understand: If the visitor inpatient and try to open the page many times, in this case the images within /typo3temp/pics will be created more times. (waste of disk space, server performance, increase the time till the image creating progress ends.)

Do anybody an idea, how can be optimize this progress? f.e.
- the same images don't be created twice within typo3temp/pics? 
- creating the cached images typo3temp/pics can take in the background.
- if a user open a page, after 30 sec don't come this premature end of script?
