having a look into TCA helps me a lot.

so we can group media elements: *.pdf, *.txt; *.doc have parent "text"

lol - it is the normal sorting on the media-page in listview.

> type: media / text etc? where can i found more informations?
in the TCA. There is a list of defined Media-Types.
