After updating to 1.0.5 things changed a bit.  I got:

Warning: DAM References are disabled by other extension! (overridden 
XCLASS): /var/www/real/<servername>/htdo

The exact path was not readable (the window is too small).  But copy and 
paste to a text editor solved this.  The extension cl_becache was the 
source of the problem.  Uninstalled that and everything works again.
Now I just have to look for an other way to have my users clear the 
cache when they need to.
