[TYPO3-dam] Can't add DAM records to a content element any more...

Hello group,

Environment:
- Typo3 4.0.1
- DAM 1.0.3
- Content/DAM ref. usage 1.0.0
- css_filelinks 0.2.7
- Filelinks DAM usage 0.3.5
- mmforeign 0.1.0 latest from bugs.typo3.org

I can't add a file to the Files or Image box of a content element any 
more.  The file (or files) disappear the moment I save the content 
element.
This used to work, the website has several content element with DAM 
records used in it.
It has been a while since I last wanted to add a DAM file to a content 
element, so I don't know when it went wrong.

Any ideas?
I don't know if mmforeign is stable with the latest DAM version, so I 
don't want to update now.  Get it to work first...
