[TYPO3-dam] DAM_downloads setting width of an image in detail view

Hi,

I am using DAM_downloads for displaying files on the FE,
it is generally an image list with thumbnails, but when you click on 
the more info/details link, it displays the full image at its full 
resolution
i have set the detail image width to 500 but that doesn't do anything

Does anybody know how to set the width of the image, or to make 
imagemagick to render an alternative preview image that is max 500px 
wide?
