Yes, I think the changes made here from the original source need some
better consideration. The "// workaround: see checkValue_group_select()"
part is a bit strange, as this seems to be where the problem starts (in
the case of SAVING the form). Maybe Renè has some ideas on that, as he
knows the code better.

Same goes for me, I have currently little time to do more debugging here.
