Hi everybody

The final 1.0 release of the DAM extension is in TER ready for download.

There are too many new features, changes, cleanups to mention here. Have a
look in the manual.

Upgrading from old version

To upgrade from an old dam version you just have to update/install the
extensions as usual with the extension manager.
Anyway here are additional hints:
- Remove the dam_file extension - it's integrated now.
- The extension mmforeign provides the MM tables functionality used for
references. the dam_ttcontent extension needs that.

What about TYPO3 3.8?

To make DAM work with 3.8 several XCLASSes needs to be installed. This is
roughly tested and some smaller problems are known. To make this publically
available it needs more testing. If you want to test that edit the
dam/ext_emconf.php file and change the 'typo3' dependency to '3.8.0-'.

Other extensions

Extensions based on the old dam version might need to be ported to the new
API. If you have questions join the dam mailing list and ask.

Todo's

There are a few things that didn't made it into this release. Will come asap.
- File copying/moving
- clipboard
- the tx_dam_media class is deactived - it's still under development

Changes since last snapshot

- the indexing preset form didn't show the category tree
- indexing preset works with more than one category now
- smaller element browser issues fixed
- several batch processing fixes and improvements
- autoindexing works now

Know problems

- category root can be selected in form element
- selected categories don't show in indexing preset form

Not mentioned in manual

A lot. But I want to mention that auto indexing reads indexing setups from the
filesystem. That means, going with the Media>File module into a folder a not
yet indexed file will be indexed silently using a default indexing setup OR a
setup which is stored in the same folder like the file or in a folder above.
All clear? :-)
Creating those setup is a bit hidden for now. Install the dam_cron extension
and go to Media>Tools>Cron Job (module will change location/name). Define an
indexing setup and save it to the current folder.
