$this->setup is available in the indexing rule, which AFAIK can only do 
a post-processing of the meta-data received by the service which does 
the actual meta-extraction.

What I was searching for was related to the scope of the service itself, 
so there could be a service indexing e.g. .mp3 and .ogg files, with the 
option to skip one of those filetypes. I would like to have a switch for 
use inside of the service, not the indexing rule.
Is this possible?
