Tbh. I don't care about IE7, or let's say
I care in IE7 about telling clients they
should update to IE9 or maybe 10 by then.

I know it's just statistics and it doesn't
reflect the real browser usage and it also
depends on the branch etc. but have a look:
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_explorer.asp

Similar here:
http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser_version-ww-monthly-201007-201107

In June IE7 had a usage like IE6
has had only over half a year ago.
Now guess how many will use IE7
in over half a year from now.

Imo. as it's only a visual drawback
it's fine for me to find ANY fix which
would not blow up the layout, but rather
display the caption all over the place.

E.G:

.ie7 .csc-image-caption { position: absolute; }

This will maintain the layout, but the caption
will be written over the content/images beneath.

Just my 2 cents,
Thomas
