You are right, and that's my idea too. The IMGTEXT rendering included
with css_styled_content will have just one DL rendering and appropriate
hooks and/or TypoScript-stdWraps so that extentions can add other
rendering methods, if desired.

The global default will still be the table-rendering (so no change will
be seen on existing sites). Setting the "accessibility=1" constant that
Sebastian created you'll get the DL-rendering.
