[TYPO3-commerce] Products/Articles hierarchies

Hi,
one basic question about product/category/article terms in the commerce 
extension:

Is the colloquial term "Product" like what I call a mineral drink, that 
I can really buy and drink,  a "product" in
the commerce extension or rather a "category" and the "product" would be 
"mineral drink orange"
in commerce-extension terminology ? So if I have a mineral drink called 
PowerUp and it's "sorts" PowerUp Orange,
PowerUp Straberry, is "PowerUp" a commerce (sub-)"category" or a "product" ?
