[TYPO3-commerce] Multiple attribute dropdowns?

We have an old 0.9.x installation.
This installation is hacked to support multiple attribute dropdowns for 
a product. This was done so that you could choose both a color and a 
size (for example).

Is this a feature which now has been integrated (in trunk or TER)?

Also - the latest version on TER i 0.9.9. I guess that one is the 
recommended stable version?
When will the next main version be released (approx.)?
