Hi,

I have a shop with many similar products that all have the same number
ff almost the same atricles. So, it would be easyest to just create one
template products, and then copy/paste it and only manually change the
article number and differing values.

However, while browsing the forge I have found this:

"Currently copying of prodcts is realy prohibited. The reason for
this:
If a product is copied the articles with their article-numbers
and so on are after the copy duplicated in the system. At this stage we
would have two articles with the same article number and this would
cause may systems to break. ERp Systems only allow to have one article
one article number.
TYPO3 itself handles own IDS for articles, which are unique in the
system and automatically generated, but to have the ability to connect
to ERP systems we decided to disallow the copy."
I can understand the rason for it, but find it little draconian because
this greatly complicates products creation. It's almost like forbidding
the use of hammers because someone can be hurt with it :).

It seems to me that copying was allowed in the past, so I would like to
reenable ti again on my own responsibility. Can someone direct me where
to look for that?

Thank you.

Toni
