[TYPO3-commerce] Poll: What should happen if a user does nit defineConstants

Hi,

I guess the "Display an error and a description" would be "the way" most
TYPO3 Extension do (if they do something in that direction ;-) ).
The idea to figure out the value sounds nice at the first sight, but if
you think a little bit about it, it could happen that the users are
similar irritated like today - they see something but perhaps not what
they expect to see!?

My 5 cents

Christian

Subject: [TYPO3-commerce] Poll: What should happen if a user does nit
defineConstants

Hi List,

we had a Problem report with an installation, where the products
wheren't displayed. Debugging this issue, we figured out, that the
overridePID was not Set in Constants or Setup. Commerce was not ablte to

render the Links because it was not set.

Making Commerce a bit "tollerant" against such kind of errors, I
currently don't know how to implement it, possible solutions:

Display an Error

Display an Error and a description how to proceed ( like tt_news) as
html

Try to figure out the value (in this case it would be the own page ID)

All solutions have pro and cons, so I like to have your opinion.

Ingo
