That's not a problem of commerce I think. It's a problem of allowed 
script-runtime. Because of unserializing 6MB File, an creating files and 
directory structure may take to long. If it's your own developing system 
try to set php runtime to 320 sec and memory_limit to 100MB.
If it fails furthermore, probably the file is damaged.
