I can confirm that all Checkout templates and the Product listing 
templates have Windows line endings (^M).

The rest of the templates have proper line endings.

This should be changed, since it does give problems (as Sebastian notes).

This lives on as bug http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=6310
