Hello Commerce list and developers,
Since a few weeks we, Aristo WebDesign, decided to switch to Commerce. This
means we want to use commerce for several projects in next weeks/months.
We have read the forum discussions and understood that not all features are
developed yet. Some of these features are really needed by us. This is why
we want to help speeding up the process, by sponsoring these features.
We really hope that others join us in this, so we get some new features
shortly to be used by everyone (if we have to pay for this all by us selves,
then we will choose the use them exclusivly), so here is a chance to get
some progress (and awards for developers who have invested lots of time
allready. Thank you guys!).
New features we want to see (and to sponsor):
1. Cool menu
Advanced category-products menu, so we may use it in two approaches:
a. Have something like entrylevel, so we may cut menu into more smaller
menus, to be spread over the screen (top, left, bottom). This should give us
freedom in design.
b. Categories may have several levels. That is why products may be found
on different levels. Correct? So what we need is a kind of bottom-up menu.
This should show lowest category (with or without products) and 1,2 etc
categories up. (so this is just otherway then normal menu, what allways
starts counting from rootlevel).
What to use this for: Well such a menu might be very usefull to create pages
with 1 long list with more categories and underlying products. As used for a
menuchart of a restaurant (appetizers, primo, secondo, etc) or simular
things. And I guess if you start thinking about this , you probably come up
with new variations.
Ricardo Mieres started this one for us allready, but we will be happy to
share sponsor costs and have more advanced menu-feautures.
2. Related products.
Some one allready asked on this list, but we need plugin variant to show
related products, so we may introduce: "People who have bought this product
also bought products listed below" and simulare use.
3. Simple checkout
Most checkouts are used to buy and pay. We also use commerce for productbook
or portfolio, and then we need an alternative to just check 1 or more items
and send a mail with text: PLease send me more information about these
products.
Yes, I know this can be done, by changing template myself, but why not make
a nice multi-useable for this?
I am looking forward for interested sponsors (and also developers who want
to make these features)
Regards, Eef
