Apologies, I see now that
mod_category/class.tx_commerce_category_navframe.php is used to fetch the
tree, which uses lib/class.tx_commerce_browsetrees.php to build the tree.

So is it the browseTrees init function that would need to set a uid or pid
to restrict from?
