Concur. Also, the battery's lifetime is measured in terms of the number of recharges, usually something like 300. So I don't have the battery in AT ALL when at home. If I'm going to take the laptop somewhere, I put the battery in the night before, then unplug and use it, plus always carry a spare. The fewer the number of recharges, the longer the battery will last.
