This is because of the backporting and I rather wouldn't change that for 
"compatibility" reasons.

Of course it doesn't make sense for every failure, but there might be 
some where it makes sense. I think that really depends on each 
individuel case and might also need individuel discusion...

Most of the time the SPL exceptions will do I'd say.
