TYPO3 4.3 Development status report of week 25/2008

*General*
To centralize the communication for TYPO3 4.3 Development and to 
unburden the Core and Dev lists, a new mailing list 
"typo3.projects.typo3_4-3.general" was set up.
The TYPO3 Forge platform will be used for larger TYPO3 4.3 projects, 
e.g. the sponsored projects, to keep track of all issues, changes and 
the progress for TYPO3 4.3 in general.
Weekly status reports were introduced (as this is the first one) which 
will give a short overview of what recently happened. In case that 
nothing happened at the space of a week, the report will be very short.

*Assigned projects*
Projects which were assigned to a team or a person were written down in 
Forge [1], currently there are
*  7 projects for TYPO3 in general
*  1 project concerning the database
*  4 projects about front-end and performance
* 12 projects for the back-end

*Sponsored projects*
The first project descriptions have been written and are in the internal 
review phase. Francois Suter, in his role as TYPO3 Sponsorship Manager, 
is looking forward to publish details on these projects next week.

Currently there are the following sponsored project descriptions:
* New list module (Ingmar Schlecht, Benjamin Mack)
* New form wizard and content object (Patrick Broens)
* New TYPO3 Installer (Thomas Hempel, Steffen Kamper)

*Miscellaneous*
Tim Lochmüller is working on a student research project with the topic 
"Performance analysis of TYPO3 and elaboration of optimizations". 
Hopefully the results and suggestions will go into TYPO3 4.3.

Concerning the ability to use TYPO3 on clustered environments there's 
currently and internal research discussion which could finally lead to 
another new sponsored project.

If someone is interested in one of the currently unassigned ideas [2] 
and has time to work on or has a completely different and new idea, 
please get in contact with the release manager or use the TYPO3 4.3 list.
