[TYPO3-Performance] Making simulate_static a sysext as performance improvement?

Hey all,

I am working on some FE - related things (sorting out some special URLs 
etc) and noticed that there is quite some stuff that is related to the 
"simulate static" feature. However, as this stuff is mostly always 
before some hooks (e.g. RealURL uses these hooks), wouldn't it make 
sense to move the whole featureset of the simulate static feature into a 
system extension? This way our cms/ related files get smaller...

What do you think?

Also, I think it's doable in 2-3 days max to extract this stuff out in a 
sysext, so totally possible for 4.3. What do you think?
