[TYPO3-install] Another: Can't log into backend

I've just installed Typo3 on 1and1.com. I cannot login to the backend using the
default user/password. I've searched and found this problem quite a lot, but the
answers seem to apply to previous versions and installers that do not match the
latest version 4.3.1. So I assume this problem has been fixed? I added the line
SET SESSION sql_mode='MYSQL40' to setDBinit, but that didn't fix it. What else
to check?
