[Typo3-install] no frontend output after update php/apache

hi there,
 
i just updated my server (not typo 3) backend works still fine, buit
there is no more frontend output?! if i echo something in the index.php,
it shows up, but nothing else. i didn't change symlinks or chmod. does
anyone has an idea?
