[Typo3-german] Installation 3.8 hakt noch

Ich bitte um Hilfe:

Im Install-tool/Schritt3/ Import db sql-file erhalte ich folgende
Fehlermeldung:

Fatal error: Allowed memsize of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 16 bytes) in typo3_src3.8.0/t3lib/class.t3lib_install.php on
line 588

Wie soll ich diese Fehlermeldung interpretieren?

Lt Altmann e.a. soll in der php.ini statt  default 8 MB 16 MB zugewiesen
werden - hab ich gemacht.

Außerdem: für Uploads Einstellung in php.ini und apache in ausreichender
Größe (?) vorsehen - wie das? In php.ini hab ich den Wert für Uploads
mal probeweise auf 16 MB erhöht.

Meine Umgebung:
Ubuntu 5.10
xampp (a2, php 5, mysql 5.0.15
t3 3.8.0 dummy & source
