[TYPO3-english] Using TYPO3.CMS.git as submodule

Maybe I didn't understand your problem.

If your server is already able to run git and PHP now, then what blocks composer?
And I'm not sure what you mean by "configuration for each project"?
There is nothing to configure at all, just run one single command after you updated the Core from git.
