[TYPO3-english] How to Make a New Start Page?

Hi everyone,

I can't stand to look at "about modules" every time I log in to T3 6.2. I need to replace it with better content or a different extension. In a previous thread, I asked if I could just have something like Web>Page appear but that asks me for a page and I don't want the first thing you see when you login to TYPO3 to be "choose a page". So, I'm wondering what is the best course of action. Ideally, I'd like to just login and see info about the system, the user's site, maybe some news, etc.

There's already an extension - myDashboard - but it's still in its infancy. 
Also, I tried but cannot understand the poor documentation of extension_builder. 
I can't modify About>Modules like 4.5 because there's no alt_intro.php in 6.2

All I want is static code - nothing fancy, just some HTML/CSS/JS - to appear when a user logs in. 

Can anybody tell me how to perform this simple task?
