The strange thing is that the ampersand was working OK for a long time. The only thing was that the list of backend layouts in BE had a blank line instead of the name With the ampersand. However, when I did something in the Extension manager all of a sudden the problem With the ampersand in the backend layout name resulted in the exception that made it impossible to edit pages in BE.
