[TYPO3-english] Unload/load extension from console

Does anyone know if it is possible to unload and load an extension from the console, automatically applying any applicable database updates?

We're pushing a couple of standard extensions to a number of sites which is fine, but the odd time they require a database update.  It would be nice if we could script this as well.
