Hi!

Debian Linux 7.4 Wheezy comes with PHP 5.4.4 and APC 3.1.13 (php-apc
3.1.13-1, amd64). When installing TYPO3 CMS 6.2beta6 from scratch, the
first step of the installation process reports a warning:

"A PHP opcode cache is loaded, which may cause problems. Name: APC,
Version: 3.1.13. This opcode cache may work correctly but has medium
performance"

Removing the module from the PHP configuration results in the following
warning:

"No PHP opcode cache loaded. [...] If in doubt choosing one, APC runs
well and can be used as data cache layer in TYPO3 CMS as additional
feature."

Two questions:

1) What is the story behind APC 3.1.13 (quote: "...may cause problems.")?

2) What is the recommended solution for this situation? Ignore the
warning and keep your fingers crossed, that APC 3.1.13 works - or
disable APC alltogether?

Cheers
Michael
