I found the converter at [1] quite useful to have a beginning for a ReST 
manual. After putting the result in the extension I tweaked some things 
with the Sphinx extension (mainly the re-render option).

I must agree that ReST is not the intuitive format that many say that it 
is. Anything more complex than headers, paragraphs and bullet lists is 
still impossible to remember for me personally. Luckily the core 
documentation has a lot of examples :-)
