Hello pero,

in some points i agree with you - the actual situation of versions and version numbers is a bit of mess ... but 4.7 is really a bad choice. 4.7 is unsupported since a few month, so you will not get any security fixes for this version in the future. 6.2 is the new LTS which would give you a stable environment for about 3 to 4 yours from now on. And it ist stable - I work with this version since almost half a year. And most extensions - which are worth the credit - now works in 6.2. Many of really old extension are gone, but many where so ancient (and some inherently unsecure) that you should not use them anyway.

I need stable known environment to make a site as fast as possible - not to lose time googling and writing to this list. Version 7 i will not even comment. Neos - nice, but last time i checked this it was more like a CMS playground, not some real CMS to be used in real world.

So, i think instead od mass producing new versions every 5 days TYPO3 should focus more on end user usability and incoporating features that are today web standard - for example RealURL should have been implemented in TYPO3 long time ago before any 6,7,Neos or whatever version. It's just like developers don't have a feeling for a real world problems people experience by using CMS but they dream about optimizing code and implementing super cool new programming stuff. Just an opinion.
