Hi,

the advice is correct nontheless. You gave a password during 
installation, it is the one you use to login into the Backend. At the 
same place you are asked for a username, too. The default is admin 
anyway, but you can change it there.

If you can't remember the username/password combination you choose, you 
can create a new one in the install tool. Point your browser to 
<yourdomain.xyz>/typo3/install and follow the hints to log in there.
Click in the menu on 'Important actions' and navigate to the point 
'create new admin user'. Here you can create a new username/password 
combination and use this one to log into the BE afterwards.
