I did not override anything, at least not on purpose :), I just made 
that test ext with the latest master extension builder version.

BTW I did the same trick with a normal CE and everything worked like 
expected therefore has something to do with custom extensions.

Anyways I'll investigate further on this and let you know if I find 
anything about it.
