It´s a question of taste and usecase.

If you only include files my approach makes sense. If you include 
directory yours makes sense.

If both cases are mentioned and recommended in the docs everything is fine.

I personally prefer the usage of single files as I don´t like tabbing 
around between 10 files for one scope.
