[TYPO3-english] links to generated image files - to inside extension Public folder or out: best practise?

Hi,
Just wondering what the best practise is for this sort of thing:
my extension generates some barcode images and I am currently storing them inside /typo3conf/ext/extensionname/Resources/Public/barcode but maybe they should be stored elsewhere - outside the extensions own folders?  maybe under fileadmin/barcodes or fileadmin/images?
