You might try out the new powerful templating engine which is included
in the bootstrap package:
http://bootstrap.typo3cms.demo.typo3.org
http://bootstrap.typo3cms.demo.typo3.org/typo3/
Its relies on the http://fedext.net/ world and the package is easy to
catch - on the website you find all information and lots of
documentation, more then TV ever provided. I used the fluidcontent and
fluidpages a lot and it runs in my opinion much better than TV, because
it uses more the TYPO3 api. The FCE's are super easy to set up and in
only one file you provide everything without one single line of
typoscript - only fluid and html is necessary.

Give it a shot, I am sure for every person who switches sides from TV to
this framework will love it - its developer and editor friendly.

Cheers,
Dominic
