[TYPO3-english] TYPO3 6.2 which Extensions will still work?

Hi Andreas,

thanks for bringing up that topic, however there's no need to be that
pessimistic about that. During the first Active Contributor Meeting in
May 2013 three important sub-projects for TYPO3 6.2 LTS have been
identified - one of these is called "smoot migration" [1] to enable a
nice upgrade path from TYPO3 4.5 LTS to TYPO3 6.2 LTS.

Besides having a way to identify drawbacks before upgrading, there will
be a compatibility extension that reduces the pain of upgrading (due to
removed deprecated functionalits in earlier versions) and is targeted to
avoid these kind of blockers. Besides that, there shall be some kind of
support of "high impact" extensions - for example changes to RealURL,
tt_news, automaketemplate and others have been pushed to the accordant
Git repositories that hold the current state of development for those
accordant TYPO3 extensions.

As you can see, this topic is prioritized and not forgotten at all.

Cheers,
Olly
