[TYPO3-english] l10mgr: Requirements for importing Excel XML for translation?

I am now trying to import translations from Excel XML files exported by
l10mgr, but I cannot update some pages.  What are the requirements to
import translations by l10mgr?
1) Do I need to make translations on the Web UI for the pages before
export/import?
2) Do I need to keep the sheet structure unchanged in the file, too?  (Or
can I add columns, filters, or other Excel garbages to make it easier to
manage translation progress?)
