[TYPO3-english] changing footer in typo3 4.1.13

Hello everybody I am working at a place and my company is using typo3 for their website . I have been trying eagerly to change the footer but alas! nothing , how can I change the footer without updating this version of typo3 . I tried looking into the fileadmin tree and also at the template menu but it didn't help. I would be grateful if someone can help . :)
