Hi Mitja

Using a true MM relation for that is the only clean approach for this. 
TYPO3 still uses some old comma-separated relations in the core (e.h. 
the backend user groups of a backend user), but there are plans to 
change this.

The only clean relational approach (IMO) is to do it how Extbase 
suggests it.

You may get faster feedback in the typo3v4mvc list.
