[TYPO3-english] Make sys folder appear as web module

Hi list

I would like for my editors to be able to access the news and calendar event right from the web module. Not via the task manager or the List view. But I do not know how to realize that, hope someone can give me a hint in what direction I need to go.

Anybody knows if something like this every were implemented: http://buzz.typo3.org/people/patrick/article/make-sysfolder-appears-as-web-module/ ?
